What newry.ie will miss the most is the game of putting all your gear in the locker only to discover it wouldn't take your 20p or it wouldn't lock! Wonder though will the crack be as good in the new sauna as it was in the old over the years! Many times even though I was three quarters cooked I just had to stay on to hear the end of that tall yarn!
As the Final week begins - Its only days away (22nd March) until Newry Pool Closes its Doors to the public and the plug is pulled and the water drained away on 45 years of happy memories for the people of Newry and Mourne, but fear not the ultra modern pool opens next month as phase one of the fantastic Newry Leisure Centre.
With the development of the new Leisure centre the existing swimming pool located at Clanrye Avenue will close at 5.30pm on Sunday 22nd March 2015.
The new multi-million pound Newry Leisure Centre (NLC) is now at final completion stage and the countdown is on for the north's latest state of the art leisure complex to open in late April in the heart of Newry City.
