Time is running out for taking part in the PIPS Newry and Mourne fundraiser where you can actually come up the canal in a bubble. You have heard it said, or you’ve said it yourself, “Do you think I came up the Canal in a Bubble” and this Saturday you can take part in this fantastic, Zorbing activity coming to Newry for the first time ever, on the Newry Canal at Albert Basin.
In this latest fundraising drive the Public Initiative for Prevention of Suicide and Self harm, are inviting teams of 4 people (10yr olds+) to enter and especially welcome, families, youth groups/clubs, companies, business, workplaces, shops or local sports clubs etc..
It is important to know, this is a completely safe and professionally managed event from start to finish by the experienced Bryson LaganSports Company. There is also no need to be in fear of falling into water as you are safely transported to and from the ‘Zorb’ by boat, and a safety crew.
To participate, each individual must pay a registration fee of £20.00 to PIPS Newry and Mourne office on 30 Kilmorey St Newry. Following this, each individual is required to ‘Fundraise’ a minimum £30.00 for the charity. Winners and spot prizes with will on offer to teams and individuals participating.
This event has the support and assistance of Newry, Mourne and Down District Council and The Quays Shopping Centre Newry.
