Newry Chamber Music have announced that International Soprano Ailish Tynan will be performing at their next concert which takes place on the 15th of October in the Church of Christ the Redeemer, Bessbrook.
This concert has been made possible by the incredible reaction NCM had to their recent Crowd Funding appeal where the society raised £5000 for their Autumn/Winter Series 2013.
David Quigley co director of NCM commented “ Joanne and I were delighted with the response to our appeal. We had a total of 92 funders with donations from £20-£250 and from people of all walks of life.
This is something we found hugely encouraging, as one of our main aims at NCM is to make sure our concerts appeal to everyone. Many people are put off going to a ‘classical music concert’ as the perception of it, can be that it is elitist and a bit stuffy. That is simply not the case with NCM and we hope that many of the local people who supported us in this campaign will come for a taster on the 15th October. We are confident that everyone will enjoy what we have on offer.
Ailish Tynan is one of the most gifted Sopranos on the circuit today. She has performed in leading roles on the greatest Opera stages of the world from La Scala in Milan to the Royal Opera House in London. This will be her first performance in Newry and we are thrilled to have her. Apart from her wonderful singing, Ailish has an infectious personality and will be adored by the audience!
The Fundit campaign has also help us secure our November concert which feature the RTE Vanbrugh Quartet and we are delighted to welcome back Soprano Celine Byrne for our Christmas Concert on the 16th December. Celine performed a sell out concert at the Friends Meeting House in Bessbrook in June to a thrillled and captivated audience.
