Launching the Warrenpoint Loughside Festival
Launching the Warrenpoint Loughside Festival

The 2026 Loughside Festival will take place in Warrenpoint from this Saturday 8 to Sunday 16 August with lots of family entertainment, live music, cultural events, sporting activities, community celebrations and even a fireworks display.

Loughside Festival Chairperson Tommy Mulligan said the festival continues to grow thanks to the support of those involved. "The Loughside Festival Committee is delighted to launch our 2026 Festival and welcome everyone to Warrenpoint for what promises to be another fantastic week of celebration. Our festival continues to grow each year thanks to the incredible support of our volunteers, local businesses, funding partners and, most importantly, the local community, whose enthusiasm and commitment make the festival possible. We look forward to welcoming local residents, returning visitors and first-time guests to enjoy everything the festival has to offer."

The festival is supported by the PEACEPLUS Programme, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body.

The Committee also confirmed that Fibrus Broadband has come on board as Main Business Sponsor for the 2026 festival. Mulligan said: "We are proud to welcome Fibrus Broadband as our Main Business Sponsor for 2026. Their commitment to supporting local communities makes them an ideal partner for the Loughside Festival, and we are grateful for their generous support in helping us deliver another outstanding programme of events."

Eimear McVeigh, Finance Director at Fibrus Broadband, said the company was pleased to back the festival. "We're delighted to be the Main Business Sponsor of the 2026 Loughside Festival. At Fibrus, we're committed to investing in the communities we serve, and we're proud to support a festival that celebrates the rich culture, heritage and community spirit of Warrenpoint. We look forward to working alongside the Festival Committee to help deliver another fantastic week of events and make this year's festival another great success."

The Committee acknowledged the continued support of its returning local business sponsors, along with principal funders PEACEPLUS, Newry, Mourne and Down District Council, the Warrenpoint, Burren & Rostrevor Chamber of Commerce, and partner organisation Omeath Tidy Towns. Thanks were also extended to the many community organisations and volunteers whose work supports the festival each year.

Organisers said the 2026 festival will once again celebrate the community spirit and cross-border friendships that make Warrenpoint a special place to live and visit. A full programme of events is available on the Festival's social media channels, with organisers encouraging everyone to save the dates and check the schedule on the festival's Facebook page at WarrenpointLoughsideFestival
