Mayobridge singer Naomi Gribben, 13, and Caleb Kirwan, 14, from Leopardstown, will represent Ireland at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Malta this Saturday 24 October. They are the only duet act in this year’s contest and will perform Níos Láidre, taking the 13th spot in the running order at the live final. The pair flew from Dublin Airport at the weekend.
Naomi, from Mayobridge has singing talent that runs in her family, which she says was inherited from her nanny and grandad and is shared with all her cousins. She is no stranger to the stage, and in 2025 she was the only singer from Ireland and the UK to reach the finals of the Tour Music Fest in San Marino.
Caleb has been training in the performing arts since the age of six and enjoys singing, dancing and acting. He studies at Steptacular Performing Arts School in Dublin.
The pair were selected in the final to find Ireland’s entry, held on Sunday 4 October. Two singers were left standing at the end of the night, but the judges could not choose one over the other to represent Ireland in Malta, so they decided that both would go.
The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2026 will be shown live from Malta on TG4 on Saturday 24 October at 8pm and online at www.TG4.ie
Viewers can help decide the winner by voting online, wherever they are in the world. Unlike the senior Eurovision Song Contest, fans can vote for their own country.
There are two voting windows. The first opens at 10.59pm Irish time on Friday 23 October and closes at 7.59pm Irish time on Saturday 24 October, just before the live show starts in Malta.
Voting will then reopen after the final song has been performed, and people will have approximately 15 minutes to cast their vote before it closes. All votes will be converted into points, which will be revealed during the show.
