Thomas Davis GFC in Newry have applied for planning permission for a new Leisure complex facility on their site at Corrinshego. A multi functional area of the proposal could be also used as a venue for concerts or boxing tournaments.
It is proposed that the facility will include a Basketball Court, Handball Court, Indoor Football, Squash, Fitness/ Recovery Suite, Climbing Wall, Meeting Rooms and Viewing Gallery. The new development will adjoin the current community sports facility building in the Thomas Davis grounds at Dorans Hill.
It is proposed that the new fitness suite would include a plunge pool, ice bath, treatment centre, physio and elite athlete centre. A multifunctional area would provide for basketball, netball, hand ball, Olympic 5 a side handball, indoor football, 2 courts and badmington courts.
Currently the site holds 96 vehicles and with the new facility it is proposed that this would expand to 159.
