Police in Armagh are appealing for information following a hit and run road traffic collision on Meeting Street, Poyntzpass.
Some time between 8.30pm on Saturday, 19 January and 2.45am on Sunday, 20 January, damage was caused to a Peugeot 407 car, parked in a layby opposite Ye Olde Dyke Inn. The driver's door and rear passenger's door sustained damage. It is believed this was caused by another car.

Local Police with the support of Newry and Mourne Policing and Community Safety Partnership held an event on Saturday in Newtownhamilton Mart to provide advice to the farming community on ways to help prevent crimes such as the theft of trailers or farm vehicles.

A distressed male was helped to safety by Police and local rescue teams during treacherous weather conditions at the weekend.
Over 20 highly experienced Members of the Mourne Mountain Rescue Team and the National Search and Rescue Dog Association assisted during the successful rescue.

Police in Newry arrested two men after counterfeit currency was used to buy a car.
On Wednesday, 23 January, the owner of a Toyota Avensis car met with a female buyer in Hill Street and exchanged the car for a sum of cash. It was subsequently discovered that the cash was counterfeit.
The female buyer was travelling in a black Nissan Primera car. Police worked to locate the two vehicles which were subsequently recovered on Thursday, 24 January in Newry and Loughgilly.
A 42 year old man was arrested on suspicion of fraud by false representation, possessing counterfeit currency, tendering counterfeit currency, theft of a vehicle and possession of drugs. A 30 year old man was arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods. Both men were released on bail pending further enquiries.

Local Police are appealing for information following todays one vehicle accident that occurred in Ballinacraig Way in the Greenbank Industrial Estate in Newry.
The collision involving a silver Vauxhall Astra, occurred at around 3pm. Four males, aged between 16 and 27, were in the car at the time. Two males aged 17 and 18 were taken to hospital for treatment to injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.
Police would ask anyone who knows anything about this incident, especially the female driver of a black Audi A3, to contact them in Ardmore Police Station on 0845 600 8000.

Police in Newry are urging the public to be vigilant following reports of a phone scam. The advice comes following instances of people being contacted by callers who are enquiring about their finances. We would remind people to be on their guard.
If you are unsure if a caller is genuine, ask for their name and contact the company they are claiming to work for to confirm their identification before agreeing to make any sort of payment over the phone.
Under no circumstances should anyone disclose their personal details to an unauthorised person. Never disclose your PIN number to anyone - your own bank would not even ask you for your PIN number – and never disclose personal details such as your date of birth or your mother’s maiden name that could be used to access bank accounts.
BT have also issued the following advice: Unfortunately this is nothing new. In one example, fraudsters, pretending to be from various phone companies, not just BT, have called people on the pretence that there is an outstanding bill and threatening to disconnect their line immediately if they do not pay the bill straight away.
The fraudsters have been pretending to "cut off" the customer. Worried about having their line disconnected, some people have been persuaded into giving the fraudsters their bank account details. BT’s Nuisance Call Bureau has worked closely with BT security and the Police for the suspects to be investigated.
BT offers extensive information on bt.com offering a wide range of calling features, and options, aimed at protecting customer privacy. Alternatively customers can call the Nuisance Call Advice Line on 0800 661 441 and someone from BT will talk to you and advise the best course of action.

Police in Newry are appealing for information following a creeper burglary at Forest Hills on Old Warrenpoint Road.
Around 5am on Tuesday, 29 January, entry was forced to a house and car keys were taken. A black BMW was subsequently taken from the driveway.

Police in Newry are appealing for information following a burglary at business premises in St Colman's Park. Some time overnight between Tuesday, 29 January and Wednesday, 30 January entry was gained to insurance business premises and computer equipment taken.
