It's ten o clock on Saturday morning in Brisbane and later today Newry Boxer Paddy Murphy will take on Cameroon native Rivan Cesaire for the Australian Welterweight Championship title in the Sleeman Sports Complex in the city.

It's the biggest fight of the former Sacred Heart boxer's career to date! Since turning professional 27 year old Paddy has had 13 fights with 11 in Australia, 1 in Hong Kong and 1 in Dundalk!

Part of the Boxing Shop team Paddy has never lost a fight and has a 100% win record in Australia including five knock outs. He drew in Hong Kong and Dundalk, his only fights outside Australia.
Weighing in at 66.3 Kilos just under his opponents 66.35 Kilos, Paddy who has made his home in Brisbane nearly six years ago is taking a step up in competition terms. His employers Kenny Constructions gave him three weeks off work to prepare for the fight.
Commenting on Facebook Paddy said " It's a privilege to be fighting for the Aussie title and I'm determined to get that belt around my waist!"
Rivan won the title in his adopted city of Melbourne in June this year. Lets hope Paddy wins it in his adopted city of Brisbane on Saturday night!
