Write a commentThere was a strong line up of Newry Wheelers at the Bishopscourt Racing Circuit on Saturday 6th June in Downpatrick. They club was well represented in all races, A2/3/4 Ladies & Vets. Barry Tinnelly took 2nd place in the A4 race while Alwynne Shannon took 3rd in the ladies race.
In the A2/3 race the pace was fast from the start covering 15x2.1 mile laps of Bishopscourt racing circuit.
High winds on the day adding to the challenge. Rory Farrell was very aggressive and riding hard. Kenny Bagnal got into a move chasing the 4 leading riders and stayed away virtually to the line where he finished 9th and 1st unplaced A3. Other wheelers were CathalClarke, Connor McLoughlin, Declan Reid, Andrew bye, Andrew Hicks, Darren McCullough, Owen Henry and Kevy Lynch in Top 10 and 1st Vet home on the day. Other results in the A4 race included 6th place for Sean McAvoy with Paul Garvey finishing in 10th.
