A car and a bus were struck by stones over the weekend in the Camlough Road area.
Some time between 11.30am on Saturday, 27 July and 11.45am, damage was caused to a Volkswagen Beetle car by persons believed to be throwing stones from the Parkhead area of Newry and a bus was also struck by stone throwers.
Constable Anderson, Newry and Mourne Response, said: "This incident could have had much more serious consequences. Those who are taking part in this type of activity need to appreciate just how dangerous throwing stones at moving vehicles can be. Even a small stone can shatter a windscreen, onstruct the view of the driver and cause a collision that can result in serious injury, or even death.
"I am asking parents to explain the dangers of stone throwing and even the dangers of being so close to such a busy road to your child. Please check on your children, make them check-in with you regularly, and help us avoid a serious tragedy."

Police in Newtownhamilton are appealing for information following the theft of a caravan from Camlough Road, Newry.
Sometime between 8.30am and 6.30pm on Thursday, 29 August, a 2010 Swift Conqueror 360 caravan was stolen. The caravan is grey on both sides and white on the front and rear. There is a dent on a grey square panel on the left hand side of the caravan, at the rear. The registration TEZ 2151 was also attached to the rear of the caravan at the time of theft.

Police in Newry are appealing for the public's assistance in locating a quantity of medication which were lost between Derrybeg and the tow path at Carnbane.
27 Guetiapine tablets, in blister packs, were reported lost at 9.10am on Monday, 2 September.
Police would like to hear from anyone who has information in relation to this missing medication. They would also urge anyone who comes across discarded medication to hand it in to their local police station. Medication taken without proper medical advice can be extremely dangerous and harmful to your health.

Newry police are appealing for information following an incident in Monaghan Street where signs and flags from the Pride in Newry Festival were removed.
Around 5.20am on Friday, 30 August, a group of young people, who were dressed formally, ripped down a number of signs and flags which had been erected for the Pride in Newry event in the city on the Saturday.

Police in Newry have arrested a 31 year old male on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs.
Police were in attendance at a hotel on Merchants Quay during the early hours of Saturday, 31 August when they were made aware of a quantity of suspected drugs, discovered by a staff member.
A 31 year old male was susbsequently arrested and later released pending further enquiries.

Eight cars have been broken into in five separate incidents and items including handbags, wallets, ipods, mobile phones and laptop were taken.
The incidents occurred during the day on Saturday, 7 September at Kilbroney Forest Park, Slieve Gullion Park, Ballyargan Road, Tandragee, Vinneycash Church car park, Battlehill Road, Portadown and Killeavy GAA Club, Dublin Road, Newry.
E District Crime Prevention Officer, Paula Crowe said: "Thieves are opportunistic and unattended cars can often look like an attractive prospect to criminals. We do not want anyone to fall prey to this type of crime and would urge all motorists to take steps to protect your car and valuables.
"Don't make it easy for thieves - remove all valuables, such as handbags, wallets, CD players, laptops, Sat Navs and phones from view. Lock valuable items in the boot and remove the face plate from your in-car stereo system. In a number of these incidents the thief is going straight for the glove box so avoid storing your valuables here - where possible, keep your wallet, purse, cash or phone on your person.
"Ensure your vehicle is locked and all windows and sun roofs secure. Improving your car’s security features such as alarms, prominent VIN number markings, immobilisers and tracking devices can also help protect your vehicle.
"It only takes a matter of seconds to break into a car so it is vitally important that the public promptly report any suspicious activity they notice near vehicles or when a car alarm has been activated. This will help to deter and help us detect those involved in this type of crime.”

A house on the Greenan Road in Newry has been broken into and Police are appealing for information.
The break in was reported just before 2pm.
A quantity of jewellery was taken including very distinctive Tiffany's items and a gold band wedding ring, over 100 years old.
A male was observed in the area a short time before the burglary, knocking at doors and enquiring as to where Forest Hills is. He walked off towards Warren Hill. The male is described as being 5ft 6in tall with short, ginger hair. He met up with another, taller male who had bags with him.

Police are asking for assistance from the public in identifying the male in the accompanying Evofit.
Police believe the male pictured may be able to assist them with their enquiries into a burglary and assault at Killysaven Villas, Poyntzpass.
Around 2pm on Saturday, 22 June, entry was gained to a house. The male occupant was assaulted and sustained injuries to his head, shoulder and arm.
The male in the evofit is described as being approximately 31 years old, approximately 6ft 1in tall, clean shaven with red cheeks and light, strawberry blonde hair and eyebrows. he was wearing a long sleeved, black, rugby shirt with a white collar and dark blue, denim jeans.

Police in Newry are appealing for information following the the theft of an advertising trailer.
Some time around the end of August/beginning of September an advertising trailer was taken from a locked and secured yard on Armagh Road. It is believed the trailer was taken between 5pm and 6pm in the evening. The trailer is 24 ft long and it is believed between three and six males, in high visibility jackets were involved.
Police are appealing to anyone who noticed a green jeep or white van in the area or anyone who has information in relation to the theft or whereabouts of the trailer to contact them at Ardmore Police Station on 0845 600 8000. It is believed the green jeep or white van may have had a puncture which was changed on Armagh Road.
