Police in Warrenpoint are appealing for witnesses to an assault that occurred on a private hire bus travelling from Carlingford to Kilkeel, on the evening of Sunday 31st March, to contact them.
The assault is believed to have taken place on board the bus as it passed through the Shore Road area of Rostrevor when a woman was hit on the head with a glass bottle and sustained head injuries that required hospital treatment. A window at the front of the bus was broken following the assault. A 23 year old woman was arrested in connection with this incident and was later released on police bail pending further enquiries.
Officers have spoken with a number of passengers in order to obtain witness statements and would ask anyone who was travelling on the bus but who has not yet been spoken to by police to contact them in Warrenpoint on 0845 600 8000.

Police in Newry have arrested two men following the recovery of a quantity of suspected Class A drugs and a number of Royal Mail items.
Officers stopped a Volkswagen Golf car on Craigmore Way around 5.35am on Sunday, 7 April. A search of the vehicle revealed a small quantity of suspected Class A drugs and a number of postal items.
A 24 year old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs and a 35 year old man was arrested for interference with the postal service, possession of criminal property, concealing criminal property, theft, fraud by false representation, wasting police time, obstructing police, making a false declaration and driving with no insurance.
Further searches were conducted in the Parkhead and Carnagat area on Sunday, 7 April.
The two men have been released on bail pending further enquiries and all postal items were returned to Royal Mail.

Police in Newry are appealing for information following the theft of a vehicle from Liska Avenue.
At 4.23am on Friday, 5 April, police received a report of a householder disturbing a male in her home on Liska Avenue. The male made off. A number of rooms in the house had been entered and car keys taken. A white Nissan Juke vehicle was subsequently stolen.
In a second incident a wooden shed at another address on Liska Avenue was entered sometime overnight between 4 April and 5 April. A petrol strimmer, chainsaw and other items were taken.
Police conducted house to house enquiries and were made aware of a silver Toyota Previa in the same area being entered. Nothing was taken from the vehicle.

A 27 year old man has been charged with possession of a class B drug and possession of a class B drug with intent to supply. He is due to appear at Newry Magistrates Court on Wednesday 1 May. As is normal procedure, all charges are reviewed by the PPS.
it is believed that the charge relates to an arrest by officers from E District Tactical Crime Unit in the Cloughan Court area of Newry on Friday 5 April when a quantity of class B drugs worth an estimated street value of £10,000 and a number of other items were recovered.

Police in Newry are appealing for assistance from the public to locate items believed to have been stolen from a handbag on Tuesday, 19 March.
Sometime between 9am and 10am it is reported that a British passport, a sum of cash and a rose gold Michael Kor watch were taken from the handbag of a female as she walked between The Quays and Buttercrane Centre.
Police are appealing to anyone who has information in relation to the theft or whereabouts of these items to contact them in Ardmore on 0845 600 8000.

Police in Newry are appealing for information following the assault of a 17 year old male close to Newry Bus Station and the Needham Bridge.
Around 5.40pm om Friday, 5 April, the youth was assaulted by a group of five other youths (three boys and two girls) The teenager sustained facial injuries and an injury to his arm.

Detectives in Newry have charged a 21 year old man with the immigration offence of overstaying leave to remain in the UK.
He has also been charged with possession of Class A drugs and appeared before Newry Magistrates' Court on Thursday, 11 April.
He was arrested with three others, a 21 year old female, 38 year old male and 42 year old male, in the Camlough area during the early hours of Thursday, 11 April.
The three others have been passed on to UK Borders Agency.

Police in Newry have reissued their appeal for information following a fatal rtc on the Old Warrenpoint Road, Newry, on the morning of Wednesday 6 March.
27 year old man, Jaroslaw Lewandowski, from the Newry area, died as a result of the rtc.
The rtc between a white Citroen van and trailer and a bicycle, occurred at approximately 11.30am.
Police are keen to speak to a man who directed traffic on the Newry side of the collision directly after it occurred. They are asking him or anyone who witnessed the collision to contact them at Ardmore Police Station in Newry or the Collision Investigation Unit in Steeple, Antrim on 0845 600 8000.

Police in Newry are appealing for information following a road traffic collision in McKnight's Hill, Bessbrook.
Around 6.50pm on Tuesday, 23 April, a cyclist was in collision with a silver Peugeot 206. Damage was caused to the rear of the vehicle. The cyclist continued on their journey.
