Sixteen Cars have been recovered and a man has been arrested by Detectives in Newry following the planned search of premises on Crossan Road yesterday, Monday.
During the search on Monday afternoon, 14 April, a number of cars, of makes including BMWS, Volkswagen, Citroen, Mercedes, Chrysler and Saab, were seized. A number of these vehicles are believed to be stolen and two BMWs have been confirmed as stolen in the Republic of Ireland.
A lorry, tools, engine parts and documents have also been seized by police. Enquiries will now begin to identify the owners of the vehicles.
A 29 year old male has been arrested and is currently assisting police with their enquiries.
Detective Inspector Will Tate, CID, said: "We will now begin the task of identifying and locating owners of the vehicles seized to ascertain if they were in these premises lawfully or unlawfully. We have already been able to confirm that two BMWs were stolen in the Republic of Ireland.
"I would appeal to anyone in the community with information to contact us at Ardmore Police Station on the 101 non-emergency number."

Police in Newry are appealing for information after a report of burglary at business premises at the Chancellor's Road area and at a garage at the Carrivekeeney Road.
On Chancellor’s Road Sometime between 3:40am and 3:55am on Wednesday 9th April, it was reported that power tools with an estimated value of £200 were stolen from a property in the area. It is believed that entry was gained through the side door of the premises.
On the Carrivekeeney Road.Sometime between 10pm on Tuesday 8th April and 1pm on Wednesday 9th April, it was reported that a petrol strimmer and a scrambler bike were stolen with a value of £1000. It is believed that entry was gained at the front of the premises.

Police in Newry are appealing for information following a hit and run incident last Sunday.
Around 3.10am on Sunday, 13 April the collision occurred involving two taxis and a silver Audi. A male driver sustained minor injuries. The Audi drove off along Monaghan Street, Corn Market, Francis Street and Patrick Street.
Police believe the car sustained severe frontal damage and are appealing to anyone who observed the car or has information in relation to this collision to contact them in Newtownhamilton on the 101 non-emergency number, quoting ref: 281130414.

Over the next two Bank Holiday Mondays they will be promoting important safety messages through their Social Media Takeover.

A six year old boy was struck by a car on Saturday 19th April in the Chapel Street Area.
At around 1:50pm reports say a six year old boy was struck by a black Ford Focus in the area. The boy was taken to hospital for treatment to a leg injury that is not believed to be life threatening.

Police in Newry are also appealing for information after a report of a hit and run road traffic incident at the Monaghan Street area on Friday 18th April.
At around 7:05pm, it was reported an unknown grey / navy BMW 3 Series was parked in the area and it is believed that as the door open to the car, it caused damaged to a Black Mercedes C220 driving in the area. It is believed that an altercation took place and as the driver and a female passenger left the scene in the BMW, the car narrowly missed the driver of the mercedes before it drove off. Enquiries are continuing.

A woman has been reportedly robbed while using an ATM in Hill Street in Newry.
Police are appealing for information after a report of the theft which happened yesterday Sunday 27th of April.
At around 6:20pm, it was reported that a male approached a female using an ATM cash machine in the area. It is believed the man used a newspaper to distract the female as she made her transaction and the it is believed the man made off with a sum of money from the scene.
The male is described as wearing a baseball cap, jeans and a dark coloured jacket. Enquiries are continuing.

A 25 year old man has been charged with assault following the assault of a man in his 50's at the entrance to a bus station in the Mall area of Newry yesterday, Tuesday.
Police are also investigating a report of an assault at the Margeret Street area shortly after 5:50pm yesterday. It was reported that a male was assaulted in the area by two males. A 25 year old male and a 22 year old male were arrested in relation to the incident and are currently helping police with their enquiries. Both males have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
At this stage, police believe that both incidents are linked. Enquiries are continuing.

Police in Newry have arrested a 21 year old man following a burglary.
At 10.50am on Monday, 21 April, two males entered business premises in Corn Market. One of the males entered a staff room at the rear of the premises and stole a purse which contained a sum of cash and bank cards.
Officers attended and, following a number of enquiries, arrested a man in the Maginnis Street area of Newry on Tuesday evening, 22 April. He was interviewed and later released on bail pending further enquiries.
Police in Newry also arrested a man following an assault in licensed premises on Merchants Quay.
At 12.26am on Monday, 21 April, a 31 year old man was arrested for assault. He was further arrested for possession of Class A and possession of Class A with intent to supply.
He was later released on bail pending further enquiries.

Police in Newry are appealing for information after a report of an assault at the Camlough Road area in the early hours on Monday 21st April.
At around 5am, it was reported that a male was assaulted by two unknown males. It is believed that the males assaulted the male from behind with a bottle. The males spoke with southern accents and made off in a silver old style Passat. The male received stitches to his head and enquiries are continuing.
