Despite the loss of two of their players to red cards and a concerted comeback attempt midway through the second half, Crossmaglen Rangers are still the kings of Ulster after they beat Kilcoo by 3:9 to 1:9 in the Ulster Senior Club Football Championship Final in front of an 8000 strong crowd at a wet and cold Athletic Grounds in Armagh.

Thomas Davis GFC, Corrinshego held their Annual Youth presentations at their clubrooms on Saturday 01 December.
Our Schools Liaison Officer Adrian McCourt & Team Coaches David O’Brien & Anthony Havern outlined the many successes during the 2012 season most notably our Under 14 team which won the All County Division 3 League & Shield Double and our U16 team who also won the All County Division 3 league for the second year in succession.
Here at Newry.ie we are very sad to hear of the sudden death of Jerry Quinn, a great friend to all, local GAA legend, Newspaper Photographer and Correspondent, Hilltown Mart main man, a terrific organiser and an absolute gentleman. May he rest in peace.
Down GAA have released a statement that we couldn't improve on. He will be sorely missed.
Queens 1’s 4-2 Newry 1’s

Newry gave a poor display on Saturday after a fantastic performance against Raphoe the previous week. Queens started the better of the two teams, however Newry weathered this and took the lead when Colin McKnight slotted home after a short corner had broken down. Newry doubled their lead soon after with Richard Nummy getting it, to give Newry a flattering half time lead. Queens flew out of the blocks in the second half and Newry just did not look up for the game at all, with a burst of goals midway through the second half Queens flew into the lead with Newry not giving much in the way of an attacking force. Queens now progress to the next round of the cup at Newry’s expense.
It's that time of the year again when the Down Yearbook will hopefully find it's way into the Christmas Stockings of many a Down Gael.
It has hit the streets again and at just £10 it’s an absolute giveaway. The full colour Down GAA Yearbook was launched at 2.00 p.m. on Saturday 15th December at Easons Bookstore in the Buttercrane Shopping Centre, Newry.
The 300 page, hardback production is a must for GAA followers in Down and beyond.
The review of 2012 captures the highs and the lows, the successes and near misses and every club features in the publication. The successes of the Down minor hurlers and the junior camogie teams are well covered and there are various features which will provide both entertaining and informative reading for both young and old.
Included also are two detailed research papers on Michael Cusack and his family, which have been reproduced with the kind permission of their author, local historian Michael Anderson. This will provide tremendous reading for anyone with an interest in the GAA founder and it includes a document containing the earliest known signature of Michael Cusack, written when he was a teacher at St. Colman’s College.
The Yearbook is likely to sell-out quickly so don’t delay in picking up your copy
Seamus Walsh Chairman of County Down GAA was the main speaker at the Down County Convention in the Canal Court.
Uachtarán, Oifigighi, Ionadaí na clubanna agus a dhuine uaisle mar Cathaoirleach Coiste Chontae an Dúin ba mhaith liom fáilte a chur rombhaibh uilig go dtí a comhdail bhliaintúil seo anocht.
President, officers, club delegates, ladies and gentlemen as Chairman of Coiste Chontae an Dúin it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our 2012 convention here in the Canal Court Hotel this evening.
Tonight we will reflect on the year just past, take stock of the health of the GAA in the County at present and we will set the direction in terms of personnel and policies for the year ahead.
At the outset I want to thank those people who support me as County Chairman – a great deal of work goes on behind the scenes so this is an opportunity to acknowledge both the work and the people.
Firstly I want to thank Seán Óg McAteer for his dedication and his unstinting work on behalf of us all and I know that every club represented here tonight will have reason to be grateful for the work done by Sean Óg and not forgetting of course Martina, Debbie, Mary and Grainne, the staff of the County office, over the last 12 months.
