A 24 year old man has suffered facial injuries following an altercation between a group of people in the Kildare Street/ Upper Water Street area of Newry in the early hours of Sunday morning 3rd April.
Constable Behan said: “I would ask anyone who witnessed this incident to contact Ardmore Police Station on the non-emergency number 101. Police in Newry are appealing for information following an assault and robbery.
Around 10pm on Saturday, 9 April, a 31 year old male was walking from Commons Way towards Toragh Park when he was approached by three males. The men demanded money and struck him on the back of the head a number of times before he fell to the ground. They then stole a sum of cash before making off.
All three males are believed to be in their 30s and were clean shaven. The first male is around 5ft 9in tall, of medium build with dark coloured hair and was wearing a grey hoodie. The second male is around 5ft 9in tall, of medium build with coloured hair and was wearing dark blue jeans and a black bomber style coat. The third male is around 5ft 6in tall, of stocky build with a tanned complexion and fair coloured shaved head and was wearing a light coloured top.
The 31 year old man sustained injuries to his head which required medical treatment.
Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident or has information in relation to it. They can be contacted on 101, quoting ref: 258 110416.

Police are appealing for information after a number of residential and commercial premises were targeted in a series of burglaries today in the Rostrevor, Hilltown, Newry and Warrenpoint areas.
If you were in any of these areas and noticed any suspicious activity at any time today to contact us immediately on 101 with that information.

Police are appealing for information following the theft of a car in Camlough.
Sometime between 9.30pm on Wednesday, 13 April and 4.10am on Thursday, 14 April a white Audi A4, which was parked on Chapel Road, Camlough, opposite St Malachy’s Park, was stolen.
The Audi is a 2009 model with registration P9 UDY.

Police in Newry, Mourne and Down are urging the public to be vigilant following a number of burglaries in Newry and South Down last Thursday, 14 April.
During the day a number of houses were entered and ransacked. Houses were situated in Violet Hill Avenue and Hollywood Grove, Newry, Dallan Road and Moygannon Road, Warrenpoint, Newry Road, Hilltown and Levallyreagh Road and Horner’s Lane, Rostrevor. A black Volkswagen Golf was seen in the area of Levallyreagh Road around the time of the burglary. This car was later located in Lisburn.
Newry, Mourne and Down District Commander, Superintendent Paul Reid said: “We responded to reports of these burglaries quickly yesterday and are investigating a link between all of them. We were able to circulate a description of a car seen close to one of the burglaries and later locate this vehicle in Lisburn. This car has now been seized and will be examined for investigative and forensic opportunities.
“I would like to reassure the South Down community that we are making every effort to find those responsible for these crimes. I would also ask the public to remain vigilant. Please continue to lock all your windows and doors and make your home secure. If you notice any type of suspicious behaviour in your local area please phone us straight away on 101 or 999 in an emergency.
“If anyone has information in relation to the incidents yesterday or the movements of the Black Volkswagen Golf, please contact detectives in Ardmore on 101.”

Detectives are appealing for information following a burglary on Hight Street in Newry.
Around 1.30pm on Tuesday, 19 April, a man entered a house on High Street. After finding the house occupied he made off. He is described as being around 5ft 7in tall, approximately 27 years old, well built with short, dark hair. He was wearing grey trousers and a green shirt.

Police are appealing for information following a burglary in Meigh where a laptop was stolen.
On Monday, 11 April, entry was gained to a house on Chapel Road. The property was ransacked and an Acer laptop was stolen.

Sometime between 12.30pm and 6pm on Wednesday, 20 April, entry was gained to a house on Ballyvally Road. Nothing was taken however the property was ransacked.

Police are appealing for information following an incident in Belleeks last night (Tuesday) where a woman and a young boy entered the house of an elderly woman claiming that the boy was ill and requesting a glass of water.
At approximately 7.30pm the elderly female occupant of the house heard someone in the hallway of her property. On checking, she found an adult female and a young boy in her house. The woman said that the young boy was ill and could she have a glass of water for him. The lady asked them to step outside of the house whilst she went into the kitchen. However when she returned the two intruders were back in the hallway. She then escorted both of them off her premises. It is believed they had a grey car waiting in the estate, which they left in.
The woman is described as being between 45/50 years of age, approximately 5’/5’2” tall, of medium build, blonde/fair hair, tied up in a bun and wearing a grey dress with a pattern on it. The dress had a belt around the waist.
The young boy is described as being approximately 14/15 years of age, short fair hair, very slim build and wearing a red hoodie.
It is not believed anything has been stolen.
The woman was not injured, however she was left very badly shaken.
