Detectives are investigating two burglaries of residential properties in the Newry area last week.
The first break in occurred between Sunday 21 August and Tuesday 23 August when a house in the New Line area of Drumintee was entered and a number of items of jewellery stolen.
Also sometime between 1pm and 2.15pm on Tuesday 23 August a house in the Clontigora Hill area of Newry was entered and a sum of cash and a number of items of jewellery stolen.
A blue coloured Audi car was seen leaving the house around 2pm. A blue Audi car, believed to have been involved, was recovered by police later the same day on the Parkview area of Cloughoge. This was taken away for further examination.
Detectives are investigating a possible link between these two burglaries and are appealing for anyone who saw any suspicious vehicles in the area or anyone with any information that can assist with the investigation to contact them in Ardmore on 101 quoting reference number 686 of 23/08/16. Police are appealing for witnesses and information following the burglary of a residential premises on the New Road area of Tullydonnell, Silverbridge on Saturday 10th September.
Constable Finucane said : “It was reported that between the hours of 7.40pm and 8.15pm, two males gained entry to a residential premises and a number of items including jewellery and a sum of money was stolen. The two males were last seen on foot running in the direction on Dundalk.”
“We are appealing for anyone with information about this incident to contact Newtownhamilton Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 1366 of 10/09/16.

Two arrests have been made and a quantity of heroin seized from a vehicle in Poyntzpass this afternoon Tuesday.
The heroin with an estimated street value of £10,000 was recovered after police stopped a car on the Church Street area of Poyntzpass.
A 40 year old female and 49 year old male have been arrested on suspicion of possession of a class A controlled drug, possessing a class A controlled drug with intent to supply and importation of a class A controlled drug and are currently in police custody.
Commenting on the operation Detective Inspector Keith Gawley said: “This operation is yet another example of our determination to reduce the availability of this killer drug and I appeal to anyone who has any concerns or information about illegal drugs to contact their local Police on the non-emergency number 101."

Police have issued an appeal for information following a burglary in the Tullywinney Road area of Camlough last night, Tuesday.
Sgt. Tommy Shields said, “Sometime between 1.30pm and 10pm, a house was entered while the homeowners were out visiting a relative in hospital.
A quantity of antique family jewellery was taken. The pieces included a gold wedding ring which is 50 years old, a rose gold wedding ring dated from the 1940s, an gold antique engagement ring, which is a family heirloom dating back to the late 1800’s, a gold 3 gate bracelet with gold heart shaped padlock, a gold brooch – bar style with an inset gold nugget, a gold brooch – bar style with hald sovereign, a gold Cameo Brooch – white silhouette on tan background, a silver thick chain necklace – attached by a special clasp is a locket containing a rose gold coin, and a Waterford Crystal decanter.
This family are understandably very upset given the sentimental value of the pieces of jewellery. If you can help Police with their enquiries please call the 101 number quoting reference number 1375 of 27.9.16. Two Ipads were also stolen.

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following the burglary of a residential premises that occurred on the Carrickbroad Road, Killeavy in the Newry area.
Constable O’Doherty said : “It was reported between the hours of 6:30pm on Thursday 22nd September and 9.00pm on Friday 23rd September, entry was gained to a residential premises. A blue Range Rover sport was taken, along with gaming consuls and a number of jewellery items.

A 32 year old man is expected to appear before Armagh Magistrates Court today Tuesday charged with attempted murder relating to an incident in Newry in March 2012.
It's understood the charges relate to an incident in the Monaghan Street area of Newry on Saturday 17th March 2012 when a 31 year old man was attacked by two males.

Police are appealing for information following a two vehicle road traffic collision on the Fathom Line, Newry around 11.45pm last night, Sunday, 23 October.
The incident involved, a blue BMW and a white Toyota Celica.
The driver of the BMW and the driver and passenger of the Toyota Celica were taken to hospital for treatment to their injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.
Anyone who may have witnessed this collision or observed any of the vehicles prior to the incident is asked to contact police at Newry on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 1337 23/10/16.

The PSNI are appealing for witnesses and information following the theft of a trailer from a residential premises on the Craigmore Road, Newry in October.
Between 18th and 24th October a twin axle Ifor Williams 12 x 8 Trailer was stolen and the police want anyone who may have any information regarding this theft or anyone who may have been offered a similar item in suspicious circumstances to contact Newtownhamilton Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 937 on 24/10/16.
