Police have arrested two men following a number of burglaries in the Poyntzpass and Portadown areas.
On Monday, 16 November, police received reports of burglaries at homes in Lisnabrague Bungalows, Poyntzpass, and Ranfurley Road, Portadown. Entry was forced to two house in Lisnabrague and jewellery was taken. In Ranfurley Road, entry was forced to a house and a sum of cash taken.
On 16 November, police also received a report of suspicious activity in Aughan Park, Poyntzpass. The occupant of a house there observed a male person walking through the front door while a second male waited outside. The occupant challenged them and the males made off in a silver Mitsubishi vehicle.
A silver Mitsubishi Gallant vehicle was subsequently stopped by police on Gosford Road, Markethill on Tuesday, 17 November. A 20 year old and 27 year old male were arrested on suspicion of burglary. They were later released on bail pending further enquiries.
Constable Alan McKinney said: “We would like to hear from anyone who has information in relation to any of these incidents. We are also keen to trace the movements of a silver Mitsubishi vehicle on Monday, 16 November. If you can help please phone us on 101.”

Police in Newry are appealing for the driver of a silver car who was in the Erskine Place area this morning, 24 November, to contact them.
Around 9am a 13 year old girl was walking along Erskine Place when a silver car pulled up alongside her and the driver offered her a lift to school as he was travelling in that direction. The girl declined and returned to her home. The driver is described as being aged in his 50s and had grey hair and a moustache.
Constable O’Connor said: “We are currently conducting enquiries to establish the exact circumstances of this incident and would like the driver of the car to contact us. We would also like to hear from anyone who observed this incident. We can be contacted on 101.”

Police in Newry are appealing for information following two incidents of graffiti.
Sometime between 6pm on Friday, 4 December and 6pm on Saturday, 5 December, graffiti was painted on the ground outside a flat at Cathedral View. Graffiti was again painted in the same area between 6pm on Friday, 11 December and 5pm on Saturday, 12 December.

Detectives in Newry are appealing for information following two creeper burglaries in South Armagh.
Sometime between 9.30pm on Wednesday, 16 December and 7.45am on Thursday, 17 December, two vehicles were taken from a house on Carrickcroppan Hill, Camlough. The house was entered and keys for a grey Landrover Range Rover, reg DFZ 4, and a white Toyota Hilux, reg DFZ 484, were stolen. The two vehicles was subsequently taken.
In another incident it is believed that a house in Ardshean, Forkhill was entered sometime between 11.30pm on Thursday, 17 December and Friday morning, 18 December. Car keys were taken and a blue Volkswagen Passat, reg NJZ 1242, was stolen.
Detective Sergeant Emme Wallace said: “At this stage we are not connecting these two incidents however our enquiries are at an early stage. We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed any activity around either area or anyone who observed these vehicles on the road . We can be contacted in Newry on 101, quoting ref 224 171215.”

Police have reissued their appeal for information in relation to missing person Peter Quigley.
33 year old Peter, from the Newry area, has not been seen since the end of September 2013 and was reported missing on Thursday 7 November 2013 by his family.
Peter is described as being 5'8" tall, of medium build with dirty fair hair and blue coloured eyes.
Peter is believed to have been seen in the Belfast area on Wednesday 30 October 2013 and he speaks with a strong London accent.
Peter, or anyone who knows of his whereabouts, is asked to make contact with his family or with police in Newry on the non emergency number 101.

Police are appealing for information on separate incidents over the Christmas break.
The first is a suspected arson at flats in the Church Road area of Forkhill in the early hours of Wednesday 30 December.
Just after 4.20am, police received the report of a fire at a flat. A 27 year old man from another flat was taken to hospital for treatment. He was discharged later that morning.

Police are also appealing for information following the arson of a car in the Derrymore Road area of Bessbroook in the early hours of Wednesday 30 December.
Just after 1.35am, police received a report of a car on fire, which was completely destroyed as a result. It is reported that two loud bangs were heard prior to this.

Lastly Police are appealing for information following two burglaries at commercial premises at an industrial estate in the Mill Road area of Bessbrook.
The first burglary was reported to police just after 10.35pm on Tuesday 29 December. At this stage it is not known if anything has been taken.
The second burglary occurred sometime between the evening of Tuesday 29 December and the morning of Wednesday 30 December.

Police in Newry are keen to re-unite owners with their lost items, ranging from phones to handbags to keys, to wallets etc.
The items have been handed in to Ardmore Police Station over this past year.
Inspector Jacqui Gillespie said: “Over the last 12 months a large quantity of lost property including mobile phones, handbags, purses, wallets, cash and keys have been handed into Ardmore Police Station. We do our best to identify owners of the property and contact them where possible however we are currently holding property that we cannot identify owners for.
“This property will be held until Monday, 15 February and we would encourage anyone who has lost any of the items listed over the last few months to contact us in Ardmore on 101. If property is not claimed by 15 February it will be disposed of.”

Police have arrested a 36yr old man in the Newry area on suspicion of drugs trafficking offences after seizing approximately 25,000 Class ‘C’ pills. The man is being interviewed at Armagh in connection with the joint PSNI/An Garda Siochana investigation.
Detective Inspector Andy Dunlop of the PSNI Reactive and Organised Crime Branch said, ‘People should only take medication which has been lawfully prescribed to them by a medical professional. There is no quality assurance aspect built in the production of any drugs bought over the internet or on the street.
People do not know what they are buying. A serious risk of harm exists to someone who illegally buys and consumes any medicines without a proper diagnosis having been made’.

Police in Newry are appealing for information after a car was broken into at the Sheepbridge, park and ride facility.
Sometime between 2pm and 3.30pm on Sunday, 10 January, the rear passenger window of a grey coloured Renault Scenic, parked in Sheepbridge car park, was smashed and a handbag was stolen.
Constable John Bogle said: “The car park was full at the time this occurred and I would like to hear from anyone who has information in relation to this incident. We can be contacted in Ardmore on 101, quoting ref: 660 100116.
“I would also remind motorists to ensure they do not leave valuables in their vehicles when they leave them unattended. Also try to park in a well lit areas to reduce the chance of becoming a victim of this type of crime.”
