A tractor that was stolen earlier this week has been recovered by Police after receiving a call from a member of the public.
The New Holland tractor, which had been reported stolen from an address on the Ballyreagh Road area of Poyntzpass sometime overnight Monday 06 November, was recovered in the Concession Road area of Crossmaglen shortly after 8pm.
The tractor has now been taken away for forensic examination.
A police spokesperson added "Police would like to take this opportunity to thank the public for their continued support. This is a great example of how information from the community enables us to focus our resources where and when they are needed most. Lifting the phone and making the call works. We will follow up any information provided by the community and can assure everyone of confidentiality when they make that call."

Police are appealing for witnesses after criminal damage was caused to a digger in the Great Georges Street area of Warrenpoint.
Constable Peter Elliott said: “It is understood that the criminal damage occurred sometime between 10pm on Monday 7 November and 7am on Tuesday 8 November.
“We are appealing for anyone who might have information which may assist the investigation to contact Ardmore Police Station in Newry on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 145 of 08/11/16. Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

Police are appealing for information following a theft from a parked van that occurred in the Forkhill Road area of Newry sometime between 7am and 5.30pm on Monday 14 November.
A van window was smashed and a number of tools, including a skill saw, a chop saw and a router were taken.
Constable Chris Wolfe said: “I would ask anyone with any information about this incident to contact Newtownhamilton Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 1009 of 14/11/16. Almost £83,000 pounds worth of drugs was seized in South area during the most recent Torus operation which is part of the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s response to the sale and supply of illegal and harmful drugs in our communities. (South Area Covers: Lisburn and Castlereagh, North Down and Ards, Newry, Mourne & Down, Armagh, Banbridge & Craigavon, Mid Ulster and Fermanagh & Omagh)
The operation ran from September 1st to October 16th resulting in 322 searches and 199 arrests. Overall £3.36 Million was seized throughout the province.
Speaking about the results Chief Superintendent Alywin Barton said: “There is no denying that communities are safer for having these drugs taken off the streets and we are grateful to the public for their ongoing support – I have no doubt that information we have received directly from local people has resulted in some of these seizures.
“Drug addiction and abuse can affect anyone and we recognise that many vulnerable people are being exploited for the financial gain of those higher up the supply chain. We know that criminal gangs are using drugs to pressurise others to commit crimes. We know that people feel they can’t come forward and speak out. However, this recent operation demonstrates that we will act on the information you give us and that we are committed to ridding our communities of drugs and drug dealers.

A man in his 70's has been tied up and left badly shaken after an aggravated burglary in the Banbridge Road area of Rathfriland yesterday.
Sometime between 7am and 8am two men, one carrying a suspected firearm, entered the home of a man aged in his 70’s. They tied his feet with a belt before making off with a sum of money. The victim was uninjured but was left badly shaken by his ordeal.
One of the men has been described as approximately 20-30 years, 5’2” tall, light build, dark clothing and wearing a balaclava. The other is described as being in his 30’s, 6’ tall, large build, wearing dark clothing.
Commenting on the incident Detective Inspector Stephen Harvey said: “This was a terrifying incident for this gentleman and he has been badly shaken as a result. I am appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident or anyone with any information that can assist with the investigation to contact Detectives at Lurgan Police Station on 101 quoting reference number 256 of 29/11/16. Detectives are investigating the report of a burglary at a house in the Moninna Park area of Bessbrook yesterday 29th November.
It was reported that entry was forced through the front door of the house at around 9.30pm. The elderly female occupant was disturbed by the noise and went to investigate. From the top of the stairs she saw a man in the hall who left the house when she screamed at him. The man got into a white car which sped off in the direction of Camlough.
The man was described as being around 5’5” tall, of thin build and was wearing black clothing and a black hat with a tassle on the top. Nothing was reported stolen, however, the elderly lady was left shaken following the incident.
Detectives are appealing to anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area or who has any information about this incident to contact detectives at Ardmore on 101 quoting reference 1221 29/11/16. Information can also be given anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Police are appealing for information following an incident that occurred on the Camlough Road, Newry, on Thursday 1 December.
An eight year old boy was crossing the road at traffic lights near Parkhead Hill at around 5pm when he was clipped by a red car, possibly a Nissan Micra.
The boy required hospital treatment for his injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.
Constable Tim Coombs said: “I would ask the driver of the car, or anyone who may have witnessed this incident, to contact Newtownhamilton Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 924 of 01/12/16.”

Six PSNI officers have been injured and several police vehicles rammed following two incidents in the early hours of Sunday morning, 18th December.
The first incident occurred at around 3.30am in Crossmaglen. PSNI officers working in partnership with Garda officers had been alerted to a vehicle which had crossed the border and made its way to Crossmaglen. The white Citroen Berlingo van was located in the Lismore area by police but before the driver could be spoken to, the police vehicle was rammed along with a taxi bus before the van made off from the area. Two officers were injured as a result of the incident.
The second incident took place shortly after 5am, also in Crossmaglen, and involved two further police vehicles which were providing assistance to officers carrying out enquiries into the earlier incident at Lismore. A dark coloured Audi A6, which was travelling on the Dundalk Road towards Crossmaglen, rammed two police cars after being signalled to stop, before making off. Four officers were left injured following this incident.
Commenting on the incidents Sergeant Sam Hoey said: “ Following these two incidents we now have six officers, who were out working to keep the people of South Armagh safe, off work with their injuries and three police vehicles off the road. We are appealing to anyone with any information which could assist us to trace the drivers of these vehicles to contact police in Ardmore on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
MLA Megan Fearon has condemned the incidents in a statement “If officers have difficulty carrying out their job because of these type of assaults then it is the public who suffer and are put at risk. This community does not wish to see this type of situation. The Police Service should be allowed to serve the community and to investigate crime without the fear of being attacked, Sinn Féin absolutely condemn any such behaviour towards the police and anyone with information should contact the PSNI"

The PSNI are appealing for witnesses following a hit and run road traffic collision in Crossmaglen early this morning, Tuesday 27 December.
Shortly before 6.20am a man in his 20's was struck by a car in Cardinal O’Fiaich Square.
The man was taken to hospital for treatment for his injuries that are described as serious. The offending car did not stop. A blue coloured Volkswagen Passat, believed to have been involved, has been recovered by Police from the area of the market in Crossmaglen.
Inspector Denise Graham is appealing for anyone who was in the centre of Crossmaglen early this morning and who witnessed the collision, or anyone with any information about the movements of the offending car or its occupants following the collision to contact officers in Newry on 101 quoting reference number 488 of 27/12/16. Information can also be passed anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
