A man has been charged with manslaughter following the death of a man in Newry yesterday, Wednesday 17 January.
The 51 year old man died in the Dublin Road area of Newry.
The 32 year old man arrested is expected to appear at Newry Magistrates Court today.During a search of a property in the city five other people have also being arrested in connection with the death.
The four men (56, 46, 34 & 32) and a women (50) were arrested on suspicion of drug-related offences, including Possession of a Class A controlled drug, namely heroin, with intent to supply.

A 29 year old woman has been arrested in Newry earlier today on suspicion of human trafficking for sexual exploitation.
A Modern Slavery team and local PSNI officers worked together to make the arrest in the early hours of this morning in the Tandragee Road area.
Detective Chief Inspector Mark Bell said: “A team of officers from the Modern Slavery Human Trafficking Unit, working together with local police from the Newry area, made this arrest as part of a proactive investigation into human trafficking for sexual exploitation and the activities of a criminal gang we believe is operating in Northern Ireland.
“The woman was arrested on suspicion of human trafficking for sexual exploitation, controlling prostitution and money-laundering. She is currently in police custody, helping us with our enquiries.”
Commenting on the news Newry & Armagh MP Mickey Brady described the practice as "a particularly heinous form of organised crime" and he urged people to look out for the signs of slavery.
"Human trafficking, also known as modern-day slavery is a particularly heinous form of organised crime which involves controlling or exploiting another person for financial gain and can include forcing someone to work against their will, refusing to pay them wages, or forcing them into prostitution.
Vulnerable women and children in particular are falsely enticed here by the prospects of employment, education and a better life, can find themselves the victims of domestic servitude or sexual exploitation. This cannot be allowed to continue. I urge people to be alert to this growing crime and to watch out for signs of slavery. Should they spot anything suspicious they should contact the Police immediately."

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and information following the report of a robbery early Saturday evening at commercial premises at Killeavy Road, Newry.
Detective Sergeant James Johnston said: “Shortly before 6.30pm on Saturday, 3 February, a male, armed with a knife, entered the premises and demanded money from a member of staff. He left the store with a sum of money.
“The member of staff was not injured, however they were left very badly shaken.
“I would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or anyone who has information that may assist with police enquiries, to contact Detectives at Newry on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 1039 03/02/18. Information is being sought after a shooting incident in the Cloghoge Road area of Cullyhanna around 11pm last night (21 February)
Shots were fired at a house, breaking windows in the living room/kitchen area and sitting room. A woman and her son were in the property at the time but were uninjured.

A 33 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including attempted murder, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and grievous bodily harm. The arrest follows a shooting incident in the Cloghoge Road area of Cullyhanna on the evening of Wednesday, 21 February.

Two men have been arrested Detectives from Newry in relation to an aggravated burglary in Hilltown yesterday, Wednesday 7th March.
Shortly before 7pm, police received a report that three males had been disturbed at a house in the St Patrick's Park area before making off in a black Audi TT car.
A short time later, a black Audi TT car made off from police in the Forkhill area. It was stopped using a stinging device and the 44 year-old driver was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and a number of motoring offences.
Later, a 26 year-old man was arrested in the Newry area on suspicion of aggravated burglary, possession of an offensive weapon and threats to kill.
Police would appeal for any witnesses who may have seen a black Audi TT acting suspiciously in the Hilltown, Rostrevor, Warrenpoint, Newry or Forkhill areas in the afternoon or early evening. The movements of such a vehicle could prove important to enquiries into the incident.

A shop at the Whitegates complex in Newry has been robbed for the second time in as many weeks, with a female member of staff confronted by a man with a knife.
Detectives are appealing for witnesses following the robbery at the shop on the Killeavy Road in Newry last night, Tuesday 13 March.
Around 7.20pm, a masked male entered a shop in the area with a knife and demanded cash from the female member of staff. The male made off with a sum of cash from the till. He is described as being around 5’ 8” tall, of thin build and was wearing dark coloured coat and hood with light coloured bottoms and light coloured shoes. The female member of staff was not injured but left shaken by her ordeal.
Detective Sergeant Johnston said: “We are investigating a possible link between this robbery and a robbery at the same shop on Saturday, 03 March. I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone or who noticed suspicious activity in the area of Whitegate shops around the time of the robbery to contact detectives in Ardmore Police Station on 101 quoting reference 1282 13/03/18. A 40 year old man and 39 year old woman have been charged with a number of drugs offences following an incident on the Tandragee Road, Newry on Friday. 20 April when Detectives from Criminal Investigations Branch Organised Crime Unit stopped a car and seized £20,000 worth of cannabis.
Detective Inspector Millar said: “This seizure is yet another example of our commitment to policing the threat posed by drugs. We will continue to proactively tackle the issue of illegal drugs.
“We want to ensure that we are doing everything possible to prevent the supply of drugs and arrest those involved while at the same time making people aware of the real danger posed to their health and their lives if they take illegal or controlled drugs.

A 25 year old man has been charged with possession of a class A controlled drug, possession of a class A controlled drug with intent to supply and possessing fireworks without a licence. He is expected to appear before Newry Magistrates Court on Wednesday 23 May.
The charges are in connection with a proactive search of a house in O’Donoghue Park area of Bessbrook yesterday, Wednesday 25, by detectives from Criminal Investigations Branch organised crime unit.
Approximately £1500 of suspected cocaine and a number of fireworks were seized during the search.
