The PSNI are appealing for information following a burglary at a construction site in the Heslips Court area of Newry that occurred sometime overnight between the evening of Monday 24 August and the morning of Tuesday 25 August.
Two power saws and two vibrating whacker plates were stolen.
Inspector Jacqui Gillespie said: “I would ask anyone with any information about this incident to contact Ardmore Police Station on the non emergency number 101. Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

The PSNI have issued a number of notices regarding possible delays in the area this weekend.
1. Motorists are advised to expect delays in the Belfast Road and Rathfriland Road areas of Newry between 7.15pm and 10.30pm on the evening of Friday 28 August due to a parade.
2. Motorists are advised to exercise caution in the Mayobridge area between 1.20pm and 3pm on Sunday 30 August due to a fun run in the area.
3. Motorists in Newry are advised to exercise caution when travelling through Newry and Warrenpoint, between 8am and 3pm on Sunday 30 August, due to a triathlon in the area. Traffic diversions will be in place to accommodate the event in the William Street and Warrenpoint dual carriageway areas.

An elderly man has been treated in hospital following an aggravated burglary in Bessbrook in the early hours of this morning.
Detectives are appealing for information following the incident that occurred in the Clogharevan Park area.
Detective Inspector Harry Colgan said: "At approximately 2.40am Police received a report that three men had broken into a house and entered a bedroom where the elderly, disabled male occupant of the house was in bed. They then proceeded to assault him with a sharp implement. He received several wounds to his body as a result of this assault.
“He has been taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries.
"It is believed that a sum of money was stolen.
"I would appeal to anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the area or who has any information to contact Detectives at Newry on the non-emergency number 101. Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111."
Cllr Kate Loughran an SDLP Councillor for the Slieve Gullion area has expressed her disgust at the incident. Commenting Cllr Loughran said “I am disgusted and repulsed to hear of an older member of our community being attacked in his own bed in his own home. This type of behaviour is totally unacceptable in any society and I hope that the person or persons responsible will be brought before the law without delay.
The community in Bessbrook is stunned by the attack on this man, who suffered very serious injuries. I want to join with them in wishing him a speedy recovery and I would very much urge anyone who has any information that would help the police to apprehend whoever is responsible for this heinous crime to come forward to the PSNI without any delay whatsoever."

A 27 year old man has been arrested following a serious assault in the Merchants Quay area of Newry in the early hours of this morning, Sunday, 20 September, when a woman was punched to the stomach and face.
She was taken to hospital for treatment to her injuries.
Detective Inspector David Henderson said: “I would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed this assault or who has any information to contact Detectives at Newry on the non-emergency number 101. Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

Following an assault in Derrybeg Drive police are appealing for information from anyone who witnessed the incident.
Around 8pm on Tuesday, 22 September, an altercation took place between four males in an alleyway in Derrybeg Drive. A 33 year old sustained a cut to his head and a 42 year old man reported being punched a number of times.
The Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident or has information which may assist our investigation.

Following an assault on a 22 year old woman in Newry on Sunday the 20th of September Detectives in Newry have reissued their appeal for information. The assault in the Merchants Quay area occured during the early hours of the Sunday morning.
The woman was punched to the stomach and face during the incident and received hospital treatment for her injuries.
Detective Inspector David Henderson said: “A 27 year old man was arrested shortly after the incident and was later released on bail pending further enquiries. We have reissued our appeal for information to encourage anyone who may have witnessed this assault to contact us in Newry on 101, quoting ref: 57 200915.”

Police and the family of missing 23 year old Lesley-Ann Hanna are becoming increasingly concerned about her whereabouts.
Lesley-Ann was last seen in Buttercrane Shopping centre on Monday, 21 September.
She is described as being around 5ft 5in tall, of slim build with short blonde hair and brown eyes.
Lesley-Ann has a tattoo of a treble cleft behind her ear and a tattoo of dog paws on her wrist. Police are asking Lesley-Ann, or anyone who knows of her whereabouts, to contact them in Newry on 101.

Following break-ins at premises in Newry and Crossmaglen a 32 year old man has been charged with a number of burglary offences, handling stolen goods and possession of class B drugs.
He is expected to appear at Newry Magistrates court on 11th November. As is usual procedure the charges will be reviewed by the PPS.
The charges follow four burglaries reported to police on 13th October. Two properties in Longfield Heights in Newry were broken into along with another house on Blaney Road and one on the Newry Road in Crossmaglen.
Detectives investigating these burglaries are also questioning another two men aged 41 and 24. A vehicle, an old-style blue Audi, has also been seized.
Detective Inspector David Henderson said: “We are appealing for information in relation to these crimes. We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have noticed a blue old-style Audi in the Newry or South Armagh areas over recent days. Detectives can be contacted by calling 101. Following an attempt to steal an ATM at the Eurostar on the Forkhill Road in the early hours of Wednesday morning Detectives are appealing for witnesses.
An angle grinder was used to gain entry to the Forkhill Road premises at around 2.30am on 14 October.
Detective Inspector David Henderson said: “We would like to speak to witnesses or anyone with information about this crime. We would especially like to hear from anyone who saw a white van with a number of males on board in the vicinity of the shop or on the road to Meigh between 2.30am and 3am Wednesday"
