A man has been arrested on the Dublin Road after an earlier incident on Chequer Hill in Newry.
Police received a report of a white Toyota Avensis parked close to a school on Chequer Hill around 1pm on Wednesday, 18 March.
Two males travelling in the car urinated close to the school before driving off. Officers made some enquiries and discovered that the car had been stolen in the republic.
Details of the vehicle were circulated to patrols and the car was stopped on Dublin Road at 9.50pm on 18 March. The 51 year old male driver was arrested for being drunk in charge and handling goods stolen in the republic.
He was later released on bail pending further enquiries.

Detectives from Organised Crime Branch investigating an international drugs trafficking operation have seized a further £200,000 of cannabis plants in Mullaghbawn. Two men have also been arrested in Newry and Belfast.
Detective Inspector Andy Dunlop, from Organised Crime Branch, said: "The cannabis factory was uncovered last night in Mullaghbawn outside Newry. Cash was seized and a 32 year old man was arrested. As part of the same investigation a 53 year old man was arrested in south Belfast. A 40 year old man arrested earlier yesterday in Belfast remains in custody."
In the past week detectives have seized £1 million worth of cannabis in Northern Ireland and made seven arrests. This is in addition to £1.2 million worth of skunk cannabis seized by police in recent months. The investigation, in partnership with the National Crime Agency and Italian Carabinieri police, has also led to arrests and drugs seizures in Italy.

Police in Newry are appealing for information after a motor caravan was stolen.
Constable Steven Lawson explained: “Sometime between 7pm on Thursday, 2 April and 3am on Friday, 3 April, a white motor caravan, registration L294KEH, was taken from premises in Greenbank Industrial Estate. Damage was also caused to a fence at the property.

Police in Newry are appealing for information following an incident of criminal damage at Helen's Terrace in Newry over Easter Weekend.
Constable Heidi Middleton explained: “Sometime between 8pm on Saturday, 4 April and 8am on Sunday, 5 April the windscreen of a white Seat Leon, parked in Helen’s Terrace, was smashed.

Police in Newry are appealing for information following the theft of a digger.
Constable Garry Young said: “Sometime between midnight and 6.30am on Thursday, 9 April, a 22 tonne Case CX210 digger with a 5ft digging bucket was taken from a construction site on Clontigora Road, Newry. The digger is orange with a grey cab.

Police are appealing for information after a number of cars were damaged with paint on Drumalane Road last week.
Sergeant Alastair Kenmuir explained: “Some time between 8.30am and 5.30pm on Wednesday, 15 April, eight cars, parked on Drumalane Road, were sprayed with white paint. We believe this is deliberate criminal damage and has taken place during the day when there may have been people about the area.

Police working in partnership with officers from the National Crime Agency have recovered a quantity of suspected cannabis resin from a premises on Newtown Road in Camlough yesterday.
Detective Inspector Keith Gawley said, “ Three men have been arrested and suspected cannabis resin with an estimated value of around £400k has been recovered following the search. The men, aged 36, 51 and 62 have been arrested on suspicion of a number of drugs related offences and are currently in custody helping with our enquiries. A man has also been arrested in Birmingham as part of this investigation.
Detective Inspector Gawley continued, “ Whilst I welcome the recovery of the suspected cannabis today, I continue to appeal to members of the public to come forward with any information about the supply or use of illegal drugs. Police in Newry are appealing for information following a burglary on Tullymurry Road Donnaghmore, Newry.
Constable Jill Browne explained: “Between 8.15pm and 10.41pm on Wednesday, 11 April, entry was forced to a house on Tullymurry Road.
“A quantity of silverware and an old, black, marble clock (approximately 10in by 20in) were taken from the house. A tool shed was also entered and a Dolmar leaf blower, a red Mitsubishi hedge cutter and an orange Husqvarna chainsaw were taken.
“A silver platter and two silver cups were recovered close to the house.

Police in Newry are appealing for information after an attempt was made to steal a car.
Constable McGranaghan said: “Sometime between 10am and 6.30pm on Thursday, 23 April, a blue Fiat Seicento, parked in North Street car park, was damaged. The driver’s window was smashed and damage caused to the steering wheel in an attempt to steal the vehicle.
